Okay, Jennifer and Jennie, do either of you know where Iona is? That's where I grew up. And I graduated from Bonneville (1980).

Wow, I've been to Iona many times! My brother lived there for maybe five years or ten years, but has since moved into Idaho Falls, maybe four or five years ago. How many LDS church buildings are there? Can't be too many. The one I attended with my brother in Iona a few times wasn't far from his house.

Small world, eh?

Crazy small world. Let me tell ya - when your LDS and Military your world gets tiny. We go from base to base meeting up every now and again with other LDS friends that we met at our last duty station or the one before that. But it's fun to catch up. I love Idaho though, I lived in Iona for about year, but that was ten or so years ago. 2 churches there then, but likely more now.

Congrats on the award. I told my brother (who lives in Orem) to go to the reading, but he had to work. I'm kinda sad to be in washington right now with all the conferences and book tours going on in ID and UT right now and over the next month or so. Sad

Although if I ever want to get published I need to buckle down and get my book finished first priority. Any advice on pushing through to finish the last 1/4 when all I can think is anyone really going to read this Confused Question

I still have kids in school, so thanks for the tip on the discount. I also publish home school curriculum and I have several LDS home school titles coming out this year. If you're interested, go to www.milesaheadlearning.com

I checked out your site. What a great thing! Tell us about your homeschool books you've written!

Warmly,

I wrote the one titled Ancient Civilizations. This binder and access to a basic pubic library are all you need to teach units on Greece, Rome, Egypt, Middle Ages and China. There are fact pages, time lines, grammar, math, science, arts & crafts, quizzes, tests, suggested reading lists, etc. They're all reproducible. The average age is middle school, but it can be adapted for older and younger kids.

It was lots of fun to do. I did the typesetting and design too, found the illustrations. There are some things I'd have done differently if I'd self-published. (For example, the Middle Ages aren't a civilization. Also I was limited to a certain number of pages.) But I was writing to specs.

I want to go through and adapt it for use in an LDS based curriculum. One day...

I also did some major rewriting on the Drama Sourcebook. My name was supposed to be on the front, but they left it off. Confused

I will have to purchase this for our family's homeschooling. It sounds wonderful. And how unfortunate they left your name off the other. Will they be correcting that with future reprints? I hope so!

Hello everyone - I haven't been on in a few years. A few things have changed, been married 16 years now. I live in the middle of Texas, no longer Washington state, and I now have two daughters with juvenile diabetes. Oh, and I home school 3 of my 4 daughters, while taking college courses online myself. I look forward to getting myself reacquainted with this forum, and setting aside time for writing everyday. I need writing in my life again. Very Happy

Yea, come over to the writing Fiction part. We need more people. You'll like the people there (there aren't very many of us (except the one obnoxious guy (me))). (?? I get confused with parenthetical phrases.)
